Ya Leil is a party that leaks beyond the edges of the dance floor with extraordinary music from the Arab world, presented and re-mixed by DJ Gemma and set amongst sumptuous visual and performance art by local queer Arab artists.
Join us for a beautiful summer evening under the stars - with a generous serving of dancing, art and sensuous delights, including a feast of some of Sydney’s most delicious vegetarian Arab food.

Food is a significant part of coming together and celebrating life. We’re going to party together, so let’s eat together too. It’s important to bring people together, to sit and share a moment before hitting the dance floor. I’m very grateful to be in a position to put on a party, to give people a chance to make a connection through music and the roots of Arab culture. I want to take people somewhere else for the night…

Get set for eight hours of contemporary, independent and traditional music from the Arab world. All at our spacious new venue by the water with a wonderful outdoor area.
Ya Leil meets on the land of the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation. We acknowledge and pay our respects to the elders past and present. We support truth, peace, justice and sovereignty for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities and acknowledge that they never ceded their sovereign rights to the land known as Australia.
